what it costs new, what it’s worth used, and who has one near you.

The 2012 Hyundai Genesis is a vehicle we track across the used market in Canada. It comes in gas (14.2 L/100 km) and hybrid (12.1 L/100 km) forms, so the main choice is fuel — the hybrid earns its premium back over enough kilometres. A 7-year-old one keeps roughly 46% of a current model's market price — what actually matters over five years of ownership.

Safety recalls
2 campaigns issued by the manufacturer
Visibility · Windshield Wiper/washer · Motor
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain model year 2012 Genesis vehicles manufactured August 1, 2011, to April 30, 2012, and 2011-2013 Equus vehicles manufactured July 10, 2011, to June 12, 2012. The windshield wiper motor cover seal on the affected vehicles may degrade allowing corrosion on the wiper motor's circuit board. The corrosion can cause intermittent or total loss of wiper function.

Service Brakes, Hydraulic · Fluid
Hyundai is recalling certain model year 2009-2012 Genesis vehicles manufactured April 30, 2008, through March 28, 2012. The vehicles may contain brake fluid which does not protect against corrosion of the Hydraulic Electronic Control Unit (HECU).

Recall campaigns are manufacturer-issued and fixed free of charge. This is the US campaign set matched by year, make and model — it is not a check against a specific VIN, and Canadian campaigns may differ.
