Compact Hatchback · what it costs new, what it’s worth used, and who has one near you.

The 2018 Hyundai Accent is a compact hatchback we track across the used market in Canada. It comes in gas (7.9 L/100 km) and hybrid (6.7 L/100 km) forms, so the main choice is fuel — the hybrid earns its premium back over enough kilometres. A 15-year-old one keeps roughly 21% of a current model's market price — what actually matters over five years of ownership.

1 campaign issued by the manufacturer
Latches/locks/linkages · Trunk Lid · Latch
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2017-2018 Sonata, 2016-2018 Sonata Hybrid, 2018-2020 Accent, and 2016-2017 Azera vehicles. The trunk latch may become damaged, preventing the opening of the trunk from the inside. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 401, "Internal Trunk Release."

Recall campaigns are manufacturer-issued and fixed free of charge. This is the US campaign set matched by year, make and model — it is not a check against a specific VIN, and Canadian campaigns may differ.
