Compact SUV · what it costs new, what it’s worth used, and who has one near you.

The 2016 Ford Escape is a compact suv we track across the used market in Canada. It comes in gas (13.3 L/100 km) and hybrid (5.8 L/100 km) forms, so the main choice is fuel — the hybrid earns its premium back over enough kilometres. A 21-year-old one keeps roughly 5% of a current model's market price — what actually matters over five years of ownership.

Air Bags · Knee Bolster
Ford Motor Company (Ford) is recalling certain 2016 Ford Escape vehicles. The driver's knee airbag modules installed in these vehicles were produced without the inflator gas generant material, and, as a result, the air bags may not inflate properly in the event of a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 208, "Occupant Crash Protection."
